Meet the Tutors

The MacLab Tutors are a group of computer experts whose skills vary widely. They're here to answer any questions you might have and assist you with any problems. If the tutor on duty can't help you with your problem, he or she will probably refer you to another tutor who knows more about it.

Alex DeWitt

Class of 2008

Once a computer science and math major, I now study philosophy. That will change again. I have begun the Urban Teacher Education Program at the University of Chicago and plan to be a Chicago Public Schools teacher. Come to me with questions about the MacLab, but also to discuss Dewey or public policy.

Brian C a/k/a/ BC a/k/a/ "I put the Stud in Study" a/k/a GB (don't ask) worked for the resistance.
Don't ask which one.
He has a plan.
He won't say what it entails though.
He doesn't talk in the third person; he didn't write this.
He's too important to do that sort of thing.

Brian Mayer

Class of 2010

I am a History major in the College, and just started working at the MacLab. Before I had a life, I liked to make Christmas tree ornaments and chase small rodents. I enjoy making websites and widgets. When I'm not clicking on BigRedNumber.com, I occasionally work nights at the MacLab.

Jeff David Lowe began life at a young age. After being abducted by time-travelling Ninjas, he spent some years fighting Nazis on the the Moon with the 501st Brigade of Stormtroopers. After a successful elimination of the Rebel threat, he journeyed to Starfleet Academy where he majored in Computer Science, Diplomacy and Advanced Telepathy. After a five-year mission on a heavy-cruiser vessel, he returned to the Vulcan Science Academy for his Master's degree in Temporal Mechanics. Class of 2008

I study math and history/philosophy of math, and plan to be in Chicago indefinitely. I painted the mural on the east wall in the hopes of inspiring calmness and delight in all (or at least making A01C into less of a dungeon).
